Rebekah & Matt’s wedding at The Landing at Joshua Farms in Kilgore, Texas was such a joy to be around.  Every time I turned around there were more friends and family showing up.  These two are surrounded by an incredible support system.

This little (big) printer is near and dear to Rebekah.  She’s had it for many years and it’s made her graphic design-loving heart full of happiness.  Of course it would play a part on her wedding day.

I love a great First Look.  But, I also adore me some Daddy/Daughter First Looks as well.

Anytime your getaway car and bridesmaid dresses match, you know your wedding is on point.

“What do we do now?!” That moment right after you have been announced at your reception, but are not quite sure where to go next.

I think Rebekah and her father laughed more during their first dance than any two I have photographed in the past 10 years.

Whoop.

Of course she had a reception dress.

I was totally humming “and at last i’ve seen the light”.

Sometimes I wait outside the bathroom for the bride to walk out so I can get an awkward photo of her. (That’s not creepy right?)

Let them eat cake!

Hey future brides… I can’t encourage you enough with this one… A last dance where you are all alone is THE BEST.

It’s that time again. It’s time to look back at some of the best photos from 2014. Everyday we’ll be taking a look at a new category. Voting is open till midnight and the winners will be announced Monday. The winning entries will each receive a 16×20 print.

Everybody loves a good photo booth. And these photos are some of my favorites form the past year.

1. Olan: Let’s be honest. Every couple needs a great portrait. And no one rocked those better than the fine folks at Olan Mills.

2. Wine: Because liquid is fun to photograph.

3. Beard: I might be a bit jealous.

4. Hair: One of the perks of being a bride is your friends will do whatever you ask them to do.

5. Sip: Ladies are almost always so much smoother than dudes when it comes to The Mug Machine.

6. Chest: Ain’t no swag like married swag.

7. Disco: Disco balls are fun.

8. Bump: Disco balls are more fun when you pretend they are your baby.

9. Force: All wives have the ability to use the dark side of the force.

10. Family: Every time The Mug Machine is rolling families try to nail that perfect shot. It’s almost impossible with more than 1 tiny human. Only the most talented families can pull it off.

Having gratuated with a major in architecture from Texas ATM, you knew Jennifer would look for a super cool place to get married.

When she came across the Parador in Houston, she knew she had found her spot.

Also, because Jennifer spent most of her engagement session and bridal session telling me about the architecture of the locations we were in, I figured I better get a ton of photos without people for her. ;)

This next one is my favorite…. So timeless.  Notice the lines.  The architect was really working on a whole other level at this point…

I noticed that Jennifer and every one of her bridesmaids were iPhone users.  As a fellow blue bubble person… it warmed my heart.

I love a giddy bride on the way to the First Look.

I really enjoy taking those formal family shots.  So much history and depth there.  Think of the hundreds, maybe thousands of times, that these sisters have been photographed together.  But NEVER like this.

Time for a break before the ceremony.

Ryan had a killer cake done by Cakes by Gina.

Pro Tip: Brides and Grooms usually don’t get to eat a lot.

By FAR, my favorite part of Jennifer and Ryan’s wedding day was the anniversary dance.  (All the married people dance and the ones who have been married the longest win.)

Ryan’s grandparents crushed the competition and after winning took a bow.

Overpriced wedding photographers, fancy venues, and killer cakes are nice, but staying married for over half a decade requires none of them.

Thank you two for such a fun day.  It was an honor to be there.  Look me up in 2065 around your 50th and we’ll do a vow renewal. ;)

Talia & Andrew met at the Texas A&M School of Law in Ft. Worth.  Most Aggie jokes don’t apply to them because they are super smart.  Plus, if you make fun of them without basis, they will probably sue you for slander and libel.

We started at their school where Andrew was channeling his inner Zach Morris.

So so many books.  AND, the shelves where on these automated tracks.  It was like crossing a library with a Transformer.  It made me want to go to law school.

Guess who is getting married January 2, 2015?

Then they did what most responsible lawyer like people do.  They put on fancy clothes and went and played in a fountain.

I totally love me some Jessica and Austin.  these two had an epic wedding at Bella Sera Ranch in Palestine and I was just giddy that they let me in on all the fun.

Wedding Tip 639: If you are giving your groomsmen a gift….

… make sure they are old enough to use it without cutting themselves.
