The Fort
The Fort

So, for those of you who follow me on Facebook or Twitter, last week you may have heard me mention/complain about how sore I was from building “The Fort”. My friend Wes came over and basically did all the real work while I cheered him on and paid for lunch. Anyway, without further adu, I give you both video and photography of said fort.

The video below is about 6 hours worth of raw man power. Try not to be too impressed with my shear feats of strength and skill with the power tools.

Luke loves going up the steps but hates going down the slide. Basically all he does is climb up, play, climb down.

My favorite thing about The Fort is that both Danielle and I can swing. She is a smoking hot mother of 4 and I’m a pudgy middle aged man so I have included a sample photo of her.

Engagement Photography Teague TX | Mindy & Dustin

Mindy and Justin are chiropractors and have a practice together. My favorite thing that I found out during the session was that Justin really does not visit my blog but has pretty much seen all of my recent work because he is constantly walking into Mindy’s office while she is looking at my site while she should be working. :)

So rather than make them wait and wait and have the patients pile up I decided I better get this session blogged asap.

(A side not about the car in this photo. I am wanting to get an old car to park in the back for the kids to play on, but am still debating the pros and cons of our house looking like an old junk yard and my kids getting to have fun for the next 5 years. I’ll keep you posted on the developments.)

These two were both pretty nervous heading into the session but they soon settled into their groove and really did great. This next shot was one of the first spots where I could tell they started forgetting that I was there photographing them.
(That is part of the reason I really enjoy engagement sessions. It’s almost like practice for the wedding day itself. You guys get used to being photographed and I get used to how cool you are as a couple.)

We ran into a bit of rain but it worked out great because we got to go into their clinic and do a few “painting with light” shots. I did some of of these a few years ago and may start doing more.

Wedding Photography Castle on the Lake | Josey & Sam

Josey and Sam had a great little wedding at Castle on the Lake in Jacksonville. It was everything a wedding should be, family, friends, relaxed, and crazy fun.
Here is one from their first look. (The rest of the day Josey kept saying. “I’m so glad we saw each other before the ceremony.”)

I have known this little guy for almost 3 years now, he is the same age as my oldest son and we have a blast every time we are together. He kept saying he was James Bond.

Josey. Sam. J. S. Get it? :)

With 2 older boys and only 1 girl we all knew the day would be tough on Josey’s dad.

After they finished their first dance they stopped for about 3 seconds and then broke into a 5 minute mash-up dance similar to the evolution of dance. It was easily the best first dance I have ever seen.

You know you are in East Texas when….

the grooms cake is road kill…

and little kids are playing golf with pine cones.

Don’t freak out… he was not driving.

Thanks guys it’s been a blast getting to know you the past few years and thanks for trusting your day with me.

Engagement Photography Tyler TX | Lindsey & Justin

Lindsey and Justin were the type of couple I love working with. They gave me total freedom to do anything and were pretty much up for whatever I suggested. Here are just a few from their Tyler engagement session.

Justin is in a band. Lindsey is not but she still looks better than he does playing the guitar. :)

These two are actually from Louisiana so Lindsey was sporting the hometown jersey.

She was so proud of her fishy face I can only assume she wanted me to blog it.
